Building innovation, one gear at a time!

What we do

The Austin Gearheads meet regularly to discuss ongoing projects and brainstorm new ideas. Some of the club’s most notable projects include designing and building a solar-powered go-kart, developing an automated plant watering system using Arduino, and constructing a fully-functional, scaled-down replica of a V8 engine.

Club Mission

The Austin Gearheads is an engineering club founded in 2010 by a group of mechanical engineering students at the University of Texas at Austin. The club’s mission is to provide a supportive community where members can collaborate on engineering projects, learn new skills, and network with professionals in the field.

Club Events

The Austin Gearheads also participate in community outreach events, such as hosting engineering workshops for local high school students and volunteering at engineering-related events around Austin.
