Thursday November 30th, 2006.

Time:

6:00pm to 8:30pm

Location:

Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Toronto, ON

Room#  302

This meeting “rocked” to use a favourite expression of our Guest Speaker Michael Bungay Stainer, Business Coach and former Rhodes scholar.  A strong attendance at this meeting clearly demonstrated that our members are anxious to learn how to differentiate their businesses, and they did not go away disappointed!  Check out the photos from the after meeting festivities!

Speaker / Facilitator:

Michael Bungay Stanier,  Principal, Box of Crayons

Workshop / Presentation Description:

GET DIFFERENT OR GET DEAD!

Eleven ways to differentiate your practice for greater success

Are you still struggling to grow your practice?  One reason may be because your business model is the same as everyone else's.

Your business model is one of the key ways to differentiate yourself from other consultants.  This is important for two reasons:

  1. You need to be different to stand out from the crowd.  M any consultants look identical to most potential clients.

  2. Consulting needs to "spread out" and be available to more people in the non-profit sector.  Knowing how a business model works will help the impact of consulting to the non-profit sector to spread.

In this workshop meeting attendees learned about:

  • The Four Quadrants of a basic business model

  • Eleven Levers you can use to different your own business

  • How you can use the genius of Hendrick's Gin, McDonald's and easyHotel.com (amongst others) to help your own business flourish.

This session was as inspirational as it was practical!  Get the handouts HERE !
